Who We Are
AdviceEconomics is operated by Abdennour Aissaoui and Michael Kitces. We're a startup platform that helps small RIA firms transform their QuickBooks data into benchmarked Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
What Data We Collect
When you use AdviceEconomics, we collect:
- Financial data from QuickBooks: Your chart of accounts and general ledger (including income accounts, expense accounts, assets, liabilities, and equity)
- Firm information you provide: Number of employees and number of lead advisors/owners
We do not collect or store client-level data — only firm-level financial information.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Generate your personalized KPI dashboard with industry benchmarks
- Create anonymized, aggregate benchmarks that help all users compare their performance to industry peers
- Improve our platform and troubleshoot issues
- Conduct industry research (through Kitces.com, using only anonymized and aggregated data)
Who Can Access Your Data
- Abdennour Aissaoui and Michael Kitces can access your data to provide you with service and support
- Kitces.com may receive anonymized, aggregated data for industry research purposes
- No one else — we do not sell, rent, or share your identifiable data with third parties
Your individual firm data remains completely private and is never shared in an identifiable form.
How We Protect Your Data
- Your data is stored securely on Google Cloud (Firebase) in US Central 1
- All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest
- Access is protected by password authentication
How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your data indefinitely to provide ongoing service and historical comparisons, unless you request deletion.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Download your data at any time
- Request deletion of your data — just contact us and we'll remove it
- Contact us with any privacy questions or concerns at support@adviceeconomics.com
Changes to This Policy
As we're in early alpha stage, we may update this policy as our product evolves. We'll notify you of any significant changes via email.
